A total of eight research projects in the areas of breast cancer, cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, cognitive neurosciences and human fertility were approved by FCT (Science and Technology Foundation) at the last IC & DT Projects call, in all Scientific Domains.

 

The center obtained support from the FCT (Foundation for Science and Technology) and the Algarve Operational Program (PO Algarve) to develop eight projects in the area of Medicine and Health Sciences, led by the following researchers: Ana Teresa Maia, Álvaro Tavares, Clévio Nóbrega, Inês Araújo, Joana Xavier, José Bragança, Luís Faísca, Rui Martinho.

 

The goal of the Centre for Biomedical Research (CBMR) is to provide high-quality, state-of-the-art research, training & education. The emphasis is on a fundamental understanding and applied targeting of health issues and conditions related to aging, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, developmental & degenerative brain disorders.
